WINTA is an Indigenous-led global network of Indigenous and non-Indigenous interests that seek to give practical expression to the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples through tourism. WINTA collaborates with Indigenous communities, tourism industry entities, states, and NGOs, which have an interest in addressing the aspirations of Indigenous peoples seeking empowerment through tourism and producing mutually beneficial outcomes. Currently, the WINTA Network is made up of over 300 individuals representing more than 45 countries around the world.
The World Indigenous Tourism Alliance (WINTA) invites all organizations and individuals who support our objectives to join the WINTA Network.
The objectives of the WINTA Network are to support the development of Indigenous Tourism globally by:
There is no set fee to become a member of the WINTA Network. WINTA is a not-for-profit organization and values the contributions of its Network members. The Network operates according to the universal Indigenous values of reciprocity and mutually beneficial relationships. You are encouraged to gift/give what you can, when you can, to support our shared objectives.
Examples of support may be as simple as providing expertise or guidance to other network members, making strategic introductions, or sharing ideas, resources and opportunities as an active participant on our social sites (i.e. Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn). More direct contributions in the form of pro-bono services or donations to help further the mission and activities of the WINTA organization are also greatly needed and appreciated, as are all levels of support inbetween.
